I have been hearing Rock Star performers off late. I somehow have developed liking for this term. They are normally outliers in terms of performance. This article was very good and gave some tips on hiring Rock Star. Mika Salmi, CEO at creativeLIVE have written this article.

  1. Do not look for  mercenaries.
  2. Pick up people who are Smarter than you. (My favorite anytime)
  3. Choose one who is an Accomplished person. (It doesn\’t matter if their accomplishment lies in a different field)
  4. Look for Company culture fit.
  5. Diverse background helps in bringing fresh look and promote innovation. 

Picking up smarter than you and people with diverse background are my favorites. I always look for these while shortlisting and interviewing candidates.
