Kancor Flavours and Extracts Limited

At Kancor Flavours and Extracts, I managed Environment, Safety, and EDP, playing a key role in transforming the company's environmental compliance. Initially, the company faced legal challenges, but under my leadership, we resolved them and earned recognition as the best environment-managed company in the state. This experience sharpened my ability to lead through regulatory challenges and implement sustainable solutions — skills I now apply when coaching leaders facing complex organizational challenges. Safety management was another critical responsibility, as the plant operated under the Explosive Act, requiring strict safety measures. I developed both onsite and offsite emergency plans, ensuring safety for the workforce and community. Leading safety in such a high-risk environment taught me how to manage high-stakes operations — skills I emphasize in coaching leaders who must balance safety and operational efficiency. I also led the development of an ERP system from scratch, which integrated multiple business functions and served the company effectively for nearly a decade. This process optimization experience has been invaluable in coaching teams to enhance efficiency and scalability. Mentoring was another key aspect of my role. I developed a fresher to take over after my departure, ensuring leadership continuity. This emphasized the importance of nurturing future leaders — a principle central to my coaching philosophy. Additionally, I worked closely with union leaders to balance management goals with employee needs. This enhanced my conflict resolution and negotiation skills, which I now use in coaching leaders to lead with empathy while achieving business objectives. These experiences have shaped my leadership approach, blending technical expertise with safety and people management. As a coach, I draw on these insights to help clients navigate challenges, improve processes, and build high-performing teams that foster sustainable growth.
