Thiruparkadal

A small village near Kaveripakkam. These place is on the way to Vellore from Chennai.

There after two temples.

1. Prasanna Venkatesh Perumal

The main deity is standing on a shivalingam. Perumal had given Darshan to a rishi who visited the temple thinking it is a Perumal Temple. The temple is considered as example of Hari and Hats being one. The temple is known for thirumal naktshatra. This temple asking with another temple (adjacent) is considered as equivalent to 107th Divyadesham. That is why the village is known as Thiruparkadal.

Special Pooja and Vilvam is offered on all pradosham days in this temple. The temple has nice Thirtham (Kolam) with lot of lotus in it.

In addition to main diety, one can have Darshan of Andal (beautifully dressed), Rukmini sametha Krishna, Narssimhamurthy, Desikan

Temple is built in the period of Krishnadevaraya (1509-1529)

2. Ranganathar Temple

This temple\'s main deity is Sriranganathar. He is in sleeping posture, like in actual Thiruparkadal, which is not accessible to human being.

This temple belongs to Pallava period

Both the temples are on the bank of palar river.
